I will be telling you about some baby essentials for 0-6 months to make things a bit more simple and time efficient.
When I went to start my baby registry I remember being SO overwhelmed! As a first time mom I had no clue where to start or what the best thing to buy was. All I could think about was trying to hurry out the door and be done with it all -- which is not how we should feel during such a precious time in our lives.
There are so many products in stores and online these days making it really easy to get sucked in to buying everything because it looks, feels, smells amazing! But I am living proof that all you end up with is a house full of baby stuff you maybe use once if ever at all.
To save you from making the same mistake I did, as well as MANY other first timers have.... I have come up with a few *must have* baby items from 0-6 months of age in hopes to save you/friends/family LOTS of money!
FEEDING:
*All Natural, Gentle Dish Soap - (we used one from Amazon for Mabree at first but soon went to Target to buy Mrs. Meyers brand for pretty much all hers and our dishes.)
*PLASTIC BIBS- (Dont even bother with the cute saying cloth bibs because eventually they get so stained they arent even legible anymore. Just wipe and sanitize and be done.)
HEALTH:
* Aveeno Baby Wash- ( This works SO great for Mabrees sensitive skin. No breakouts for this girl!)
*Nail Clippers- (Those nails come out sharp... SHARP!)
*Wash Cloths- (Circo brand is the only brand Michael and I used on Mabree. We found those to be the softest.)
*Wipes- (LOTS AND LOTS OF WIPES-- we love the pampers sensitive.. again because these keep the breakouts away for little May May.)
*Diapers- (This is obvious... but we love Pampers Swaddlers or Pampers Baby Dry. I would also suggest registering for a couple of each size from 0-3 months at first.)
*Destins Diaper Rash Cream
*Dreft Laundry Detergent- (The baby smell it has is perfection!)
*Diaper Genie- (JUST DO IT... trust me. It saves your nose from horror.)
GEAR:
*Boppy Pillow- ( I recommend bringing this to the hospital with you as well. It's a lifesaver for breastfeeding when you have tired arms.)
*Carseat and stroller
*Pack N play- ( Our Pack N Play was used for Mabree her first 6 months of life. We placed it in our room right beside the bed... which made mommy happy!)
*2-3 Pack N Play sheets
*Baby Monitor
*Baby Tub
This is it for you guys... I could go on about a few more things but the rest will pretty much be custom to your specific wants/needs as you see fit. Michael and I have so much that we use and love for Mabree (like our rocker and crib) but we didn't get those things until later around her 6 month mark. Although I love that I finally have a completed nursery, some things just were not a necessity at first seeing as how I wanted her in our room until she became 6 months (which really ended up being until she was 10 months...oops.) so her Pack N Play worked just fine for a bed -- especially since we lived in an apartment that had limited space! LOL.
